متن کاملSingle-Qubit Operations with the Nitrogen-Vacancy Center in Diamond
A concept combining optics and microwave pulses with the negative charge-state of the nitrogenvacancy (NV– ) center in diamond is demonstrated through experiments that are equivalent to single-qubit gates, and decoherence for this qubit is examined. The spin levels of the ground state provide the two-level system. Optical excitation provides polarization of these states. The polarized state is ...
متن کاملReduced plasma-induced damage to near-surface nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond.
Understanding plasma etch damage on near-surface nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers in diamond is essential for preserving NV emission in photonic structures and magnetometry systems. We have developed a methodology to compare the optical properties of ensemble NV centers initially 70 nm from the surface brought closer to the surface through etching with O2 plasmas in three different reactors. We em...
متن کاملHybrid Plasmonic Photonic Crystal Cavity for Enhancing Emission from near-Surface Nitrogen Vacancy Centers in Diamond
Optical cavities create regions of high field intensity, which can be used for selective spectral enhancement of emitters such as the nitrogen vacancy center (NV) in diamond. This report discusses a hybrid metal−diamond photonic crystal cavity, which provides greater localization of the electric field than dielectric cavities and mitigates metalrelated losses in existing plasmonic structures. W...
متن کاملTemperature dependence of the nitrogen-vacancy magnetic resonance in diamond.
The temperature dependence of the magnetic-resonance spectra of nitrogen-vacancy (NV-) ensembles in the range of 280-330 K was studied. Four samples prepared under different conditions were analyzed with NV- concentrations ranging from 10 ppb to 15 ppm. For all samples, the axial zero-field splitting (ZFS) parameter D was found to vary significantly with temperature, T, as dD/dT=-74.2(7) kHz/K....
